Bowes Farm was located around the junction of Green Lanes with Bowes Road. It was part of the Bowes Manor Estate with a lodge, says Dumayne, on the north corner of Sidney Avenue, (now one road south of the North Circular).
There was once an entrance to a Farmery on Bowes Road. Until 1821 it was the home of Joseph Peel, who was the uncle of Prime Minister Sir Robert Peel, who is said to have visited the farm.
