In 1988 Alan Dumayne combed Kelly’s directories to find what shops lined Green Lanes and then compared it with the shops currently trading in Palmers Green’s main thoroughfares.

90-118 Green Lanes.
Just north of the North Circular Road on the corner of Regents Avenue by the Old Cock Tavern.
I have photopgraphs and a couple of invoices and can provide further information
Compant thrives nowadays up the A 10
I have compiled lists of shops in Palmers Green south of Bowes Road over the last century.
As far as I am aware, the longest ‘active business’ in Palmers Green survived for 99 years !!!
I can provide some evidence of my claim.
